A year has passed...
I'm not at my year anniversary yet (that will be Dec 1) but it was last year around my birthday (which is Saturday) that I pledged to finally find something that works and began my WLS journey.
Since last year I had a RNY and have lost 144 pounds (that includes pre and post op). I'm 4.5 lbs away from losing half my body weight (148.5 lbs).
On Saturday I leave for a week-long trip to Chicago to see my best friend Cindy. She's seen pics but she hasn't seen me in person since last August. She has never seen me below 280 lbs. We're going out with my friends from law school who have also never seen me below 280 lbs. I can't even imagine how they are going to react.
I have got to get Cindy to set up a night out with her Secret Service agent friend and his buddies...yum! Running around Chicago is going to be so much more enjoyable without carrying all of that extra weight. Not to mention the shopping!
I'm also excited because I got my new driver's license and boy is my neck skinny! (I lost over 5 inches on my neck alone.) My weight is inaccurate on it (I put 150) but a lot less inaccurate than my old license that said I was 200 and I was closer to 300!
I'm kind of throwing a lot out there but I'm pretty excited. I never thought a year ago I could be where I am now.

I can't imagine how COOL it is going to be when your friend sees you in person! That will be a feeling you will never forget!
A year ago a pledge to change your life - and now LOOK at YOU!!!! what a journey you've been on and now to reap the rewards. Enjoy your trip, your birthday, and your new wonderful life.
