Stress triggers SUCK!

I hate it when all I can think about is CRAP I know I shouldn't eat and REALLY don't want! It's amazing how deep down stress can be hidden and I'm not aware of it until I get these overwhelming urges! Chocolate, ice cream, baked sweets, etc. YUCK!!!!

What's worse, I'm swamped at work and tethered to my computer this week trying to get a large project completed. I need to shut DOWN these darn thoughts. Any ideas???

Oh, and i will definately be hitting the Y after work today!

I wish I had help for you, but I am in the same thought process. I am trying to get back to drinking water...lots and lots of water.
Good Luck!!

For 3 months I've had stress, and am trying to knock off the 10 pounds I gained....I too eat stuff I shouldn't when I'm stressed.....

Lately when I have a sweet craving, I go for my Yoplait Yogurt, the Lemon pie one or Apple turnover, they have many different flavors....

And for my salty craving I have Famous Daves jerky....Or microwave popcorn....

Good luck, Kelly

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with hungar. I could feel sick and be dumping and I would still be thinking about eating chocolate. I do pretty well at curbing the tempation to eat the CRAP, but I can't quiet the voice in my head. This feeling is what causes me to graze on avoidance food to quiet the voices. We all know that THAT doesn't work!

Thanks for the ideas Kelly.

De-stress - BUBBLE BATH! Or a walk? Meditation?

Otherwise... what helps me is to look at some before pictures... I always forget where I came from. It motivates me to forget about the food.

When your thoughts go there.. Have a "happy place" in mind associated with your WLS, or a happy place you want to be..

Maybe put a pic of the old you next to your computer so you can just glance over at it to remind yourself that YOU can and have resisted the call of the voice in the past.. It's how you got here after all isn't it?

Or you can do what I do - and in my mind tell the voices to 'STFU'...

Today is bagel day at work.. I walked by the long row of boxes of bagels from Panera, sauntered past 16 tubs of cream cheese and over to the water machine to fill my water bottle.  Then I walked back to my desk, proud as hell with myself for being stronger than the bagels finally!

Hang in there... I mean seriously - look how damn good you look... you don't REALLY want those things!

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!
