Park Nicollet Bariatric Surgery Support Group?

Hi There, 

Do any of you go to Park Nicollet's bariatric surgery support group? I have a few questions that maybe one of you could help me with... 

1.  Is it mainly geared towards people who are pre-op/considering surgery or those who are post-op/life after surgery?

2. Do you enjoy going to the group and/or is it helpful?

3 and finally.... Where the heck is the "bank building"?? The website says it's in the bank building lobby conference rooms, and I just have no idea what that means. I went through the list of locations for Park Nicollet and just don't know where that is!  I realize I could just call them to ask, but I figured since I was posting some questions here, I might as well add this in!

1. Yes to both - pre and post-ops are all welcome, as are people from different programs!  It's open to ALL.

2. Yes, I enjoy going to group, it has been EXTREMELY helpful to me, both pre- and post-op!  It has undergone some changes - some of which were really ugly.  But recently it seems to be getting better, more geared towards our isses. 

The bank building is the darker brick building across the parking lot from the 3800 building on Excelsior Blvd. 

You should come!  I doubt you'd regret it!

Officially, the Bank Building is 5050 Excelsior Blvd.  It used to be M&I Bank on the first floor, hence the name.  Now it is all Park Nicollet staff and conference rooms.  If you need some better directions on how to get there or how to get to the parking lot that you can see, but not always find a way in, let me know.

Yes! Please come! There are not enough of us LapBanders, hehe :) 

We have both post ops and pre-ops...lots of things are covered including some LapBand questions.. it's kind of an open forum in a way. PNC used to have a LapBand-specifc group but they got rid of it for some reason.

Unity Hospital also has a great group of people that meet that are just LapBanders... if you have questions, PM me.

I am not familiar with where Park Nicollet is at, is it north of the cities?  I am in Mankato and desperately need to find some other support groups and of coarse there aren't any down this way.  What day & times do they meet?

PNC is in St. Louis Park, just NE of Hwy 100 and Excelsior Blvd.  Would be quite a haul for you, a good hour and a half at least.

Meetings are 6 to 7:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.  Used to have one in Burnsville, which wouldn't be AS bad, but I'm not sure if they're still doing those??
