Support groups at Uof M
Hi all, I was wondering how the support groups at the U are. I have a lap band and go to the support group offered where I had my surgery, but it isn't very structured and I don't get much out of it. I would like to try coming up that way for some meets, any recommendations?

I seen that & was going to check it out, but I work late this Wednesday. I am up for the drive so maybe next month I can make sure I don't work that day.

Thank you for the info, I will have to see how far Fridley is, however if it gives me the support I need I won't mind a drive to get to it!

I don't know about the groups at the U of M, but I go to one at Abbott - meets the 2nd Monday of the month from 6:00 - 7:30 on the 6th floor of the Piper Building and we generally go out afterwards for more chit chat. We have everyone from pre-ops to people who have had the band for 3-4 years. Great group of people. Sometimes there are topics/speakers and sometimes it's just open discussion. Unity Hospital also has support groups the 2nd and 4th Monday's of the month at 5:45 - also a good group. And we have branched out from there and have a band support group that meets every Sunday evening at Starbucks on Foley Blvd. just off of Hwy 10 (might be kind of far for you.....
