crazy wow moment
My husband and I were helping with my sons school fundraiser and when we got there I asked what they wanted us to do and the one guy looks at me and says you can get up on the table out there and dance................. Ummmm what did you say......My response to that was you want people to come not run away............ My hubby didn't say much.......... Holy crap I was stunned felt like I was on cloud 9.......... I don't see me being any different from before except the energy, I have lots of energy...................I still am shocked when I walk by a window and see my self I back up and take another look....WOW is that really me??????????? Just thought i would share........ When does your noggen catch up with the rest of ya??????????? Any ideas???????
That's an AWESOME WOW, Marsha! I hope you just drank it in!
As for when does the noggin catch up? I hope NEVER!!! I NEVER want to become so used to being in a (more or less) "normal" body, that I become complacent! I want to be excited by every WOW that comes my way, be it this month or 10 years from now! Why NOT enjoy it?
Here's a funny not-quite-WOW moment I had a week ago... I was at the counter at Dunn Bros (where else???) with 3 beverages - I was getting them all in my hands to carry to our table, when the barista asked me if I needed help. I said 'no thanks, I got it!' He said "well aren't YOU the multi-tasker!" Then he said - "Tall and skinny".

Took me a sec to realize he was referring to the next guy's drink order...

(if you're asking yourself - 'where's the WOW in that moment?' It was having even the most FLEETING thought that he MIGHT have been referring to ME! In the past, I would have thought 'you nasty, sarcastic SOB'.... even tho he would STILL have been referring to the next guy's drink order. It was an "attitude' WOW!)

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
LOL that's a great WOW moment!! Gotta love it! I'm thinking my head will never catch up...I'm going on 5 yrs out and still think of me as that "fat" person and get a shock when I see myself in the mirror or in pictures. I'm not tiny by any means but ohhhhh so much better than I was before WLS. I now am getting to be on the other end of the journey and am watching my husband "melt away". It was fun this weekend to watch him get excited about buying a new XL size Vikings jersey for this yr.
