Stopping in to say hi (because Diamond Girl said I should)

Hello everyone. I have lurked here for a week or two to see if any of the "old timers:" from a year or so ago were still here. I was a Minnesotan until June of last year when we moved to Florida. I am 2 years post op, 10 pounds and 8 sizes under goal, and maintaining inspite of lifes little obstacles. We had to move again due to the economy in Florida being HORRIBLE. My husband was offered a job on the railroad in Bismarck North Dakota with 100% benefits for him and our family paid. So he drove up in April, I drove up with a dog, cat, 4 hermit crabs and a 10 year old in a car that bottomed out every time we hit a bump. Luckily I was able to find a job too, and I also have 100% insurance. So I am lucky enough to be double covered by insurance!!! We are so blessed as we were very close to living out of our car when we had to move. So a year after moving, I am back in the MN neck of the woods, and excited to see how many of the familiar faces are still here, but SO MUCH SMALLER! Way to rock your tool, ya'll!

Bismarck is my hometown!  Where are you working?  After college I went back to Bismarck for 10 years before moving to the Twin Cities.  I worked at the Baptist Home and Medcenter One.  I worked in accounting back then.

I am working at the Abused Adult Resource Center as the Prevention and Training Coordinator. I am also doing some crisis work both as a Domestic Violence as well as Sexual Assault Advocate, pretty similar to what I was doing in MN before I moved. I hate the roads and the cold in Bismarck, but being closer to family and friends has been a huge blessing. I missed everyone so much in FL. My job is also a blessing, so many don't have them right now, and the people I work with are great.

Yep - Bismarck is cold and the roads suck, mainly because they don't use salt in ND.  It keeps your car from rusting I guess.  And, you don't have any 45 minute commutes there.

But on the positive weather side, you won't find any hurricanes in ND!

True, but with the rain we have been having lately and the way it rushes down the streets, I could swear some days the tropical storms have follwed me up here.

Well, you went through hell Nicole after your surgery and you have always been one of those board members that I'll just never forget.

I'm so happy that it sounds like North Dakota was the right move! I can only imagine the relief it has brought to you & your DH.

I have family in Bismarck so should I happen to get your direction, I'll for sure let you know!

I have been around here, the naughty side, and everywhere in between. I lurk mostly but can't seem to pull myself away from keeping  up to date with all my fellow OH members. I really do need to start participating more at 2 years out there are still struggles and wow moments that need to be shared for motivation as well as to get necessary support.
