getting those liquids in.....

I am finding day 3 and 4 are not so great!  I am having the hardest time getting in my required liquids.  Today I started adding 20gr of protein to my diet.  I mixed it with 10 oz of chicken broth that I will spread out through the day.  I am still feeling stuffed from the first 3 oz from this AM.  It seems that as long as I drink only water I am fine but once I start tossing in the soups, jellos, and popsicles I start to feel fuller for much longer.........I know I just have to ride it out and do my best.  I am NOT dehydrated as peeing is not a problem and it is the right color and smell!

Don't worry to much! Getting in your liquids the first few weeks can be a challenge just do you best. It does take a while to be able to get it all in. I remember that room temp. for water worked best for me. If you are feeling you are getting dehyrated try some smar****er. But, make sure you watch yourself because getting caught up from being dehyrdated is a challenge.

Best wishes and congrats on your surgery!!

For me, the only way to get in a good amount of fluids was to be dilagent abou****ching the clock and not letting too much time pass before sipping some more. If you need to, use a kitchen timer as a reminder.  As long as your pee is light, I would think you're getting a good amount of liquid.  As each day passes you'll be able to drink more, just treat it like your JOB for now.

You are doing great! Day 3 & 4 were my hardest days too. Day 5 was my big turn around day as to my getting my 40 oz of carnation instant breakfast & whey protien in. It's been smooth sailing since :) I find it easier to swallow the thicker drink then it is water but I keep sipping away anyhow.

Warm liquids worked best for me at that stage too --- even though it was just veggie or chicken broth, it FELT like food and helped with head hunger.   You'll realize soon enough that you're not actually hungry and you dont want to feel so full ever again :)    You could also try something like cream of broccoli soup and strain it...   I thinkeven on full liquids I was allowed yogurt -- which is when my Greek Yogurt obsession began.

GREAT job trying to get in more protein -- its very important.

no yogurt until 4 weeks when I'm on pureed foods.....I can add cream soups at 10 days......so I'm stuck with the plain stuff for 3 weeks.  I realized my troubles yesterday. I had cut my jello into 8 instead of 16 portions......so I was eating double portions!!!!
