Just one Thing
Just like the billboard we have up north here advertising one of the hospitals -
If you could tell those newly out of surgery just one thing, what would it be?
Me? I'd tell them to start right off following the program set out for them. The weight may fall off but further on, if you haven't followed and learned to live it, it all becomes harder.
What would you say?

I would say...
The road to health will have speed bumps, pot holes, stop signs and drivers that will cut you off... but never doubt that with WLS you will get there.
P.S. I am going to steal this concept from you and go post it on another forum! I hope you don't mind! :)

I would say - learn to forgive yourself for those times when you make bad choices. Don't PUNISH yourself by going overboard in the wrong direction, that's one of the ways many of us got obese in the first place!
Just learn to say "I screwed up. But I still have my tool, and I'm going to be better starting NOW."
Every day we have the opportunity to start fresh and re-dedicate ourselves to our tools.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Oh, I'm sorry but I've got a few things, so just pretend I'm 3 different people.
When you complain you can't eat like "normal" people, how "normal" did society treat you when you were 100+ pounds overweight? Screw "normal." Be you and be healthy.
You don't want to feel deprived so you start eating certain foods very early on, but how deprived of so many awesome things in life were you before surgery? If you can't wait 6 months to eat ice cream, see my next comment.
And if you ate to deal with your feelings before surgery, go get therapy now (or before surgery) so you can work on your food issues before the honeymoon period is over. Food never fixed anything and food only makes you feel better in the short term. Get some help dealing with how use use food to deal with your feelings as early as you can.
