Lurker Coming out and question??
Hi all...
I have been lurking and reading all your wisdom on here for a while now. Thansk for that by the way. I had Surgery last Wednesday. I was told after a few days you will feel great.
Well..... I am sore especially on my left side, I dont feel that great. Sure I feel okay.. but I also feel bloated and I haven't popped yet so I have major cramping going on down there.
Is this normal?

Yes you're normal.. as for the bloating.. make sure you are walking.. even slow and 5-10 mins at a time.. out to get the mail, or I found up and down the steps let alot of gas out the hind end.
I had more discomfort on my left.. I was told because they do more work on that side. It also can depend on if your doctor used a scalpal to slice open your abdominal muscle vs using the surgical LAP instrument to puncture the abdominal wall... (assuming you had LAP)
Make sure you sip sip sip and walk walk walk.. even if you don't feel well.. Make sure you're drinking your protein... The more movement you can do the more you can work the gas out. And it's VERY NATURAL to feel tired, to need sleep, and to feel bloated. I took me about 5 days post op to have my first BM, and even then it was just toots of left over surgery "crap" inside of me- literally.. and it took another 5 or so days after that to have a semi-real BM...
Believe me, you will feel better.. the first few days are the roughest... then one day you'll wake up and go wow, I feel pretty darn good today..
Welcome to the

Welcome to the

Totally normal to feel awful. You just had your insides rearranged! I didn't feel good after a week. It too****il at least a month out for me to feel semi-normal. Take it slow and follow your surgeon's program. It's normal to be constipated from pain meds. I'd call your surgeon to see if there's anything they can suggest to make you feel better.
Best of luck,
