OT - I was burgled over the weekend

Got home yesterday afternoon from a lovely weekend camping to find that someone jimmied our service door on the garage and got into the house.  Stole about $4000 worth of collectable coins/bills, jewelry and, get this, BOBBLEHEAD DOLLS.  Geeeez.  They also used my gym bag to haul it all out - oh, the rudeness!  At least they dumped out most of my stuff, so I still have my shoes and stuff.

The Sherriff told us that one of the bricks we had on the back yard looked like one used to break into the Coach outlet store and steal a bunch of purses.  There have also been a rash of garage break ins in the area, so this probably wasn't anyone we knew.

I woke up this morning about 4 am all off a sudden really bugged that someone had rooted around our bedroom, through our drawers... Had invaded my home.  Even though they didn't take that much and insurance will probably pay for most of it, it is the privacy invasion that is bugging me.

That sucks, Amelia!   I can only imagine how violated you must feel!

At least you weren't home to face the $(@&#% that did it...

Amelia -

So sorry to hear about this.. A friend at work was robbed and was pretty shook up too.

I will keep you in my prayers - hopefully they will catch the jerk(s) soon and you will be able to rest easier.

Amelia,

So sorry to hear about the break in.  That is just totally scary.  Although they may have been aware that you were out of town and that is why they picked your house, I am so glad you were gone.  Wouldn't want to think about someone coming in the house while your family was home.

House broken into is not good.  The feelings stay with you for a long time.  The important thing is that you still have everyone together and safe.  It's just stuff.  I've been there twice.  We came back from a beautiful weekend at the lake and found our house ransacked.  The police came and told us to stay somewhere else for the night while they went through the house.  Fine we stayed at my mother in laws.  Only to find when we returned the next day that they had come back and broke into the garage and sheds.  I didn't want to live there anymore.  We got a security system installed and I felt much better.  Hope you realize just how lucky you are.
See you soon,
Nancy

Ameila,
I am sorry to hear about your break in.  I would feel so violated.  I hope the police can catch who ever did this to you.

Amelia:

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune.  We had our lake property burgled last winter and it takes a while for the feeling of being violated to subside.  I do hope that your insurance covers the majority of your losses.

Take care,

RP
