update on me
Well its been 1 week since surgery, I had my drain removed today...YAY...it was kind of stuck so it really sucked having that removed, but it was well worth it...I hated that stupid thing.
I have gained 1.5 pounds...which they said was all fluids....and some people gain alot more than that, so I guess I should be happy. I am looking forward to eating soft foods.....what kinds of foods can I eat????
I have been doing alot of walking..it feels so good to walk, when I lose 20 pounds I am going to buy myself a bike.
Well thats about it, I went a day early to get my drain out so I have to go back to talk to the physical therapist tomorrow...oh well......LOL

Wow - good for you! I can't wait until I'm on that side of the surgery. I'm jumping through hoops, still. I hope you continue to heal, and feel more like being active. That will help. I can't believe you are feeling that good already. Before you know it, you'll be biking!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...

That drain feels great to get out, doesn't it. I hated it too. I know you were nervous about losing the required weight. Did you end up making it, or did Dr Benn let you have surgery without meeting the loss? Did he set a 10lb goal for you?
Great treat to buy yourself a bike after you lose your first 20. I bought a treadmill 6 weeks after surgery and am so glad I did.
I wouldn't be surprised if that 1.5 pounds you're up is gone at your appointment tomorrow. I was up about a pound too at my 1 week check, and then at 2 weeks (forget what that appt was for) I had lost like 9 from my surgery date.

Hi Lisa, I am also looking forward to eating soft foods on Monday! Yay! I've been on liquids since June 22nd and it's getting very OLD.
My guidelines for soft foods are: cottage cheese, egg (poached is best), smooth yogurt (I'm going to have Yoplait Whips), cheese, pureed chicken/turkey, baby food meats (which I've heard are gross) and custard. But you may want to check w/your NUT for your surgeon's guidelines.
Hope that helps!
Lynn
