Today is the best I've felt since I got home on Tuesday. I was on Percocet and that made me feel dizzy and very tired so I switched to Ibuprofen.

I'm trying to get in my 64 oz. of water and have gotten about half so far. Working on more!

The Slim Fast high protein shakes I've been drinking don't taste as good as they did pre-op so going to try some Ensure again.

I'm already looking forward to going back to work!

Congrats on your surgery and beginning to feel better.  I am a little concerned to hear you are taking Ibuprofen.  To my knowledge Ibuprofen is a BIG no no for RNYers.  Please check with your surgeon that med can do a ton of damage to our pouches.

Good luck to you!

Tweenky, you will most likely come home the day after your surgery like I did and can walk to the bathroom. The only reason they would keep you there is if you're having problems.

I hope you meant Tylenol and not ibuprofen. I'm on my 2nd ulcer since WLS and have been dealing with this ulcer since March. I wish this on no one. PLEASE do NOT EVER use Advil, Alleve, ibuprofen and other NSAIDS.

Please spay and neuter your pets!

I called the nurse at my clinic at HCMC and she said ibuprofen was fine as long as it didn't bother my pouch. But after reading your posts, I will switch to Tylenol! The last thing I need is an ulcer. Thanks for the advice!

You're welcome! I didn't get an ulcer from NSAIDS, but I do know they are a cause of ulcers in WLS-post op'ers.

you're doing great - keep it up!!

Please spay and neuter your pets!

We had the same surgeon and they told me the same thing..Questioned it a couple of times. I still used tylenol(or nothing) though. Not sure what the deal is. I guess every surgeon has their protocol.
OT-Dr Lederer is not a hand holder-basically expects we are grown ups and have made this decision with knowledge. I sometimes wished I had the hand holding-I have never had surgery like this. Even though I work at the hospital. I am at 6 weeks and every day is different!

Ladygurl, looks like you're doing great for your weight loss! I hope to have the same results at 6 weeks.
