loss of motivation
baby steps. i dont know what time frame you have for losing the weight, but just make one change, get comfortable with that, and make another one.
When I had to lose preop weight, I stopped drinking coke, and started on diet coke, then flavored water. next I stopped all take out, except one night a week, then none. Next I tried the not eating and drinking at the same time. next i started walking - things like going to the mail box a few times then getting the mail on the third lap out there.
Remember, the surgery is FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Start working on the changes now and it won't be so hard after surgery.
Good luck! We are all here for you. You can do this
Wow - the reply to this one really helped me. I get the concept of "one day at a time" and now I can add the baby steps. I meet with the surgeon tomorrow and will hopefully get a date soon for my RNY.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...

My advice is to hit the photo section, and scroll through the "Before & After" photos. Read the profiles of those who catch your attention for whatever reason - I spent TONS of time doing that pre-op, and it really helped keep me excited for this journey - I WANTED TO BE ONE OF THEM!!!
You have to be completely ready and committed if you're going to get the best result with your tool. There will ALWAYS be triggers for eating - camping, weddings, holidays, parties... You have to be determined to be STRONGER than those triggers! And wanting it badly isn't enough. You have to know that WLS is not a miracle cure, but a tool. Somedays we use it to our advantage, some days we mess up. But it IS for the rest of your life, so if that notion freaks you out, you have to find a way to get your head in the right place before you put your body through it. Lots of people here found counseling helpful - don't be afraid of it if you think you might need it.
And keep coming here! We'll help you as best we can!!!
