OT: My Undies Were In a Bunch

On this gray day I thought I would share with you a somewhat embarassing story about myself in the hope of making you smile.  As many of you know, I take fairly long walks during my lunch breaks at work, both for exercise and to let my mind wander where it will.  Since I walk at roughly 4 miles per hour, I am usually sweaty to some degree when I got back to my office, even on cool days.  So, I have been changing into shorts and a tank top or tee shirt for my walks and then changing back into my work clothes and fresh socks and underwear when I return.  Yesterday I lost track of time and returned to work later than I had intended.  I hustled into the men's room to change, which went fine until I tried to pull up the fresh underwear I had brought in.  I managed to get them on, but they were, well, too tight.  WTH?  They looked like my underwear, but when I pulled them back off I realized that they belonged to my youngest son, who has a 30" waist.  In years past, his underwear would not have fit on one of my legs, let alone around my waist.  Anyway, I was left with a choice of either putting back on sweaty underwear that fit or going with dry underwear that were too small.  I put the smaller ones back on and went about the rest of my day with, shall we say, increasing discomfort.  I wasn't in pain or anything, but I spent most of the afternoon squirming in my office chair and standing up to, um,..... make adjustments.  I am mortified by the thought that my co-workers or the people on my bus home might have noticed my discomfort or, worse, watched my attempts to reduce my discomfort  .   So, did it work?  Are you smiling or laughing at my expense yet?  I hope so...

Have a good day,

RP

Yes, in fact I did check to make sure that I wouldn't repeat that experience today.

And people wonder why I REFUSE to try thongs...

Rick the question in my mind... did you share this tale with said son, or will you just wash his drawers and slip 'em back into HIS room?

  Imperfect does not = unsuccessful

My son doesn't live at home, but he does do his laundry at the house.  Anyway, he will NOT be informed of this incident....my family knows too many embarassing stories about me as it is.

I have a similar story....well kind of.

My son who is 10, a few weeks ago had to spend the night at my friend's house because I had to work and evening shift.  Well I left him to his own devices to pack  his clothes.....big mistake.  The next morning I went to get the jeans I wanted to wear out of the clean clothes basket (yeah I know I should have actually taken care of the laundry) and realized that my son packed MY jeans to wear to school.  I was in a panic trying to make sure that he didn't actually wear them to school.  I am sure this will be a story I pick on him with in the years to come. :)

Thanks for the smiles.....I needed them!
