~ Overcoming fear and worry can be accomplished by living a day at a time or even a moment at a time. Your worries will be cut down to nothing. ~   Dr. Robert Anthony

Personally, I need to get back to this.  In my eating, in my worrying, in everything.  Every moment I make it through is one less moment I have to struggle with

Wow!!  This one really applies to me today.  We just found out my four month old grandson has PHPV in BOTH eyes.  Should know more today after the appointment they have today for him.  Talk about worries!!!

Persistant Hyperplastic Primary Vitreous - it is a condition of the eyes.  He is only able to see light/shadows and not any detail at all.  Most only have it in one eye, he has it in both eyes.  It can lead to the worst, being blind for life.  I know there is so much they can do now so I keep praying!!  And worrying.  He is still healthy and happy!!

Well I'd say that calls for a round of prayers... poor little pooper!  I hope they can fix him up good!

Thanks Darla.  I had not posted a formal prayer request yet because I knew there was one last visit today.  They have changed his diagnosis to FEVR and he can see around the edges of his eyes but not in the middle.  Surgery is in a couple of weeks and intensive therapy to establish what comes natural to all that develope normally, so his brain will have to be challenged by his sight (whatever they can restore) with this therapy.  So as soon as I can post with some more information I am asking for all the prayers we can get!!!

I seem to take on other peoples worries lately, because THEY don't seem to be worring about the things that are happening! LOL- Ok, so if I don't worry as much, and make it through an hr worry free- each time, I get? a sf chocolate?? LOL If I worry- I would give up?? Yeah, I think this would make me worry more!

Darla:

That mindfulness/meditation book I mentioned to you previously might help you deal with all the worries and stress you have in your life right now.  On days when I really struggle, I use meditation to help me bridge from one moment to the next to the next until I feel my sure-footed emotionally.  You have had a pile of worries heaped on you of late, both yours and those of all the people you care about, so I would think that forcing in a few moments of mental peace now and then might help.

Take care,

One day at a time has always been a theme in my family since my father is a 32yr veteran of AA.  However, I really truly never "got" it or "understood" it until the recent demise of my marriage.

I was so worried and restless about the next 20years of my life that I never stopped and enjoyed the current day I was in.  My mind was constantly filled with anxiety, stress, fear, resentment etc. about hurrying up to get to the next life event.  (I touched on this with my last post about having something new, fun and good all the time) - the inbetween times I would sulk because I wasn't planning or doing something.

I am just so relieved at this point in my life to be just living one day at a time.  I have no plans for 5,10 or 15 years from now and am not working towards any long range goals at this time and it feels wonderful.  I am living my WLS one day at a time which I think has helped me keep a positive outlook and also has helped my weightloss come at a natural good pace.

We all believe living one day at a time is what is best from us in our hearts - it's our heads we just have to give in and believe it too.

I sing this for the AA club on my dad's pin night.

"I'm only human.  I'm just a woman.
Help be believe in what I could be and all that I am.
Show me the stairway.  I have to climb, Lord for my sake, teach me to take One Day at a Time.
One Day at a Time, sweet Jesus.  That's all I'm asking from you.
Just give me the strength to do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus, and tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way, One Day at a Time.

Do you remember, when you walked among men?
Well Jesus you know if your looking below, that's its worse now than then.
Pushin and shovin, clounding my mind.
So for my sake teach me to take One Day at a Time.

One Day at a Time, sweet Jesus.  That's all I'm asking from you.
Just give me the strength to do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus, and tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way, One Day at a Time.

Enjoy your day today and everyday ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Sal
