Well I spent yesterday in the ER with my husband.  He called me yesterday morning while he was at urgent care telling me he couldn't pee.  I thought that was kind of weird but he sound like he was in all kinds of pain which is not usual for him (this is the guy who went to work for 2 days with a burst appendix).  I ran to urgent care which is down the street from where I work and they had me take him to the emergency room.

He got in the ER right away but no one could figure what was going on and they couldn't get a catheter in him.  The urologist came with a scope and she saw that he had tons of scar tissue in his uretha and that he would have to be taken into surgery.

He has surgery yesterday evening and everything went good as expected.  She said the scar tissue is probably from some kind of injury he had as a child that he may not have even noticed at the time.   The tissue then blocked off his bladder.

This surgery only was a temporary fix and now he has to go to the U of M to have a surgery to fix the problem.  Not sure when that will happen but keep us in your thoughts.

I will try to get to MG coffee on Saturday I need to a break fro this stress!!

Kathy...my thoughts and prayers are with both of you.

I can't even imagine the pain he was in. Glad it is something that is repairable.

Don't forget to take care of yourself!!

Kathy-
I can empathize with you as my husband has had two kidney stones and to see a man who NEVER goes to the DR rolled up in the fetal position crying, you know it is painful.  I will keep you both in my prayers and hope he recoups well.

I just hate it when my husband is sick.  He has had some issues, and it is always a challenge.  Hopefully this will go smoothly and he'll be home and much more comfortable soon.

I had a similar obstruction years ago, so I can relate to his misery...  I hope they can figure out a permanent fix to this issue, so he can put it behind him.  ugh...

Kathy, sorry to hear about your stressful situation.  I know your hubby must be feeling better.  The U will have the right answers for you. Get this done and behind both of you so that you can enjoy the summer together.  I'll be thinking of you both.
