It's a sad day for me and millions of Michael Jackson fans today... I am so sad today because of such a big loss. I've been a HUGE fan of his since ... well, since I was born, lol. We listened to his music over in the USSR. It helped me learn a little English before I came to America. My mom and I were trying to save up to fly to London to see him this summer.

Feel what you will for him and the things he's gone through, but I'd appreciate it if you kept the negative off my 'tribute' post. I will miss him and his talent dearly. My family, friends and I are mourning deeply today... he had a tough life with a lot of issues... may he rest in peace.

Today I am reminded of his song "Gone Too Soon"... but I'll post one here that we all know to keep the mood happy! LOL :)

What a sad day.  I remember watching "Thriller" when I was a little kid and just being in awe of that.  Despite all the things that Michael Jackson had gone through in his life, he was a very talented artist, and he was a ground breaker in music.  I hope that he will be remembered for all the amazing things that he did.

Yes a sad day it is. Two hollywood deaths in one day.
God speed his healing on their loved ones.

From his days with the Jackson Five to he solo career Michael Jackson contributed a great deal to the music industry.  There was an interview with Jimmy Jam on the news last night that talked about the fact that Michael like being in Minnesota (especially the Mall of America).  My hope is that he will be remembered for all of his contributions to modern society.

May his loved ones find comfort and solice.

Thank you, Elena!!! Michael was, and will continue to be, the pivot point that changed the music world. I was just 15 when the Jackson 5 made their first television debut, and even then, I knew that I, and the world, was experiencing the early breeze that would become a full blown wind of change!! Not unlike Elvis in the 50's, he took the world by storm, but unlike Elvis, he came to light at a much earlier age, giving him so many more of us...here and around the world, to be touched in some way by his talent and spirit. His talent was truly a gift from above, and we are all truly blessed to have his music to carry with us. The world has lost a treasure, and my deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Rest in Peace, Michael...may you find in death what you couldn't find in life. You truly were a 'Thriller'...

It is hard to believe that Michael is gone. I have alot of memories of him as well. For starters we are the same age. We also were from the same state, Indiana. I grew up watching him and when my son was 5 or 6, he was taken with his Thriller video and one memory I have is when Jamie was out playing baseball, I looked over and there he was in the outfield dancing like Michael, He was so funny. Even wanted and got a red thriller jacket one year for his birthday! Sure is a shock and a very talented musician.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson......

Yup, shocking.  He's been there my whole life, even tho he was only 3 years older than me.

I remember the days of the Jackson 5 (they were SOOOO much cooler than the Osmonds!!).
I remember taking a dance class when Off The Wall was huge (and he was flippin' HOT in those days!!!)

I was in college when MTV was born, and everyone knows the impact he had on music and videos.

It's a sad, sad loss.  Farrah, too, but it's not like we didn't expect her to pass.  Michael Jackson's death is just shocking, and tragic.  So was all the turmoil he had to endure.

RIP
