Dorothy, that's totally heartbreaking news.  Consider yourself being hugged for a full 15 minutes.  You and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts.  If there's anything you need or want to talk, just call.

Hugs,
Edi

I am so sorry to hear about your neice. We went through something very similar with my sister Jill (wow,  now 18 years ago in December) who was in a car accident.  We donated her organs as well (she was 16 and her heart is still beating in a woman who was 8 when she got the heart and they didn't think she'd see 10. I know that doesnt make anything better right now but its what I try to think about now.)  But we had to get through the time where they got all the meds out of her body to see what was functioning without the induced coma. It was an awful wait and then we said goodbye. It's definitely a different experience than someone dying suddenly, not worse, not better, just different with its own special challenges and blessings.

It's a terrible thing to go through and you and your family are in my prayers.

The organ donation organization can provide a lot of support and information too. (They didn't with my family but they are supposed to.) Reach out to them if you and your family would find it helpful.

Much love,
Anna
