One week out today and feeling FanFrickinTastic!
This morning I did my 1.5 mile route in 25 minutes - forgot to bring a water bottle thinking it's a short walk for me.. duh.. I will NEVER do that again. I am full of energy.. Very little pain.
I'm getting in about 70 -80 ounces of fluids a day, mostly water - 2 cups skim milk. For breakfast I am averaging 1/4 cup of yogurt and for lunch and dinner 1/2 cup of creamed soup. I'm able to sneak a protein shake in during the day into my water as well.
My concern - this is just too easy... I have not had pain meds since I came home from the hospital other than straight up tylenol.
Should I be concerned that a cup of soup goes down in 20 minutes NOOO problem?
I have a doctor appointment today and I'm going to ask him.. but was wondering if anyone else had these concerns.
I gotta get back to work I'm climbing the walls sitting at home doing nothing!

Once you introduce solid food, especially dense forms of protein, you'll feel the difference. Take it slow, chew it well, and you should be fine!
(Although several things seem to cause issues at first... for me, eggs were difficult, and any form of ham. And I've completely switched from being a chicken breast eater, to dark meat. It goes down LOTS better than the drier white meat!)
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I'm feeling great too.. isn't it fantastic to have a great surgeon? I am just having a lil incisional discomfort which is to be expected.. I haven't had any pain meds since the friday after my surgery either... I am just like you... thinking is this too easy.. strange huh?
Stephanie- Happy to hear you're feeling so good. Don't even question it if you're feeling great. I think it's so good that you're already walking 1.5 miles. I postponed getting into an exercise routine after surgery and I feel like my muscles really paid the price. When do you go back to work?
