Woo Hoo - I'm approved!!!!

Finally!  I started my journey in Nov '08 - and actually had everything done by Feb, EXCEPT....

My PCP could not get my Thyroid TSH into normal range, so every 6 weeks she changed the medication.  I ended up in the hospital on Memorial Day (turned out to be gall bladder issues) and asked the internist that during on of the MANY blood draws they were taking, if they could do the TSH test. 

Turned out if was finally in the normal range.  Met with Dr Johnson at Unity for my consult, set the date for July 15th and it only took 10 business days for Health Partners to approve!

For awhile there, I didn't think it was ever gonna happen and now it's just 3 weeks out!

I have lurked on here for quite awhile and met the Maple Grove coffee group a few weeks back and appreciate all the good advice and support I find here!

Congratulations, Nancy.  That thyroid is a fickle little thing, isn't it?   I'm sure your doc will want to check it 6 weeks or so after your surgery.  My dose went up after my surgery, which surprised me. I always thought the weight was part of the reason my dose is so high, but I guess it must not have anything to do with it.
