bruising
Marsha-
I just discussed this with my surgeon last Monday. Dr. Leslie suggested trying a vitamin K supplement. He said we can't eat enough leafy green veggies for it to really make a difference in our vitamin K levels...well at least I can't at 6 months out. He said some people just bruise more easily and now that I'm more active, I'm just getting more bruises. He also said Edi could be right, who had told me that we grow extra capillaries to "feed" the fat we gained and when we lose the weight, those capillaries are still there but not as protected. Though he said his wife has never been heavy and she bruises easily. So basically, he had no answer. Only theories.
I've been bruising so much lately that at a family birthday party, my aunt asked me if I was in another abusive relationship (my ex-husband was very abusive). I had to try to convince her that I just bruise easily. I never had that many bruises when I was with my ex anyway...I probably bruise more easily now and my ex would hit in places that wouldn't show...so they never would have known I was being abused if I hadn't told them. Sorry, I veered off there. It was kind of funny but very sad at the same time for my aunt to ask me at her own surprise birthday party.
My bruises on my legs have me wishing for tights season! My arms are finally getting better.
I hope someone has a better answer than I got from my surgeon.
