how soon after WLS did you start exercising
Thanks for the post and your question. We all know that most WLS patients start walking withing hours of their surgery (if they have their procedure Laproscopic) - in order to minimize the risk of blood clotting. My surgeon (Dr. Charles Svendsen of Park Nicollet) told me to wait about two weeks before I attempted my first "true" exercising for a workout. Having said that, I started doing some low impact treadmill walking within about four days of my surgery (about where you are at). I have been "up'ing" my exercise ever since and I am now jogging at a medium intensity/speed on the treadmill. Next Stop: Jogging on the street!

I walked everyday as much as I could and increased it to a few miles a day when I was 2+weeks out. I am now almost 6 weeks out and have been going to a medically supervised gym for 3 weeks and also have gone to classes at the YMCA for 3 weeks. My stomach can still hurt a little if I engage those muscles too much, but I can do prettymuch everything.
Good luck with everything!!!
