Anyone wanting a new recipe? Look here!
You may have tried this since I found it on OH originally, but I printed it off 2 years ago I think and never did try it, well...until today anyhow! I made this for lunch for the whole family and everyone loved it. Amazing! Now I can have my pizza and eat it without getting that lead balloon feeling in my chest, since crusts/breads and I do not yet get along.
Meat Crust Pizz
1 lb. ground beef (I use 85/15 all the time but if you have an aversion to grease, you may want to go 93/7 or 96/4 even)
20 all wheat crackers, crushed (I used 100% stone ground wheat crackers I found in the organic section at Cub...Wheat Thins were horrible when I looked at the label, so I opted for the organic one's but because they are twice the size, I only used 10 - this was perfect!)
2 eggs
Pizza sauce
Mozarella cheese or Pizza blend cheese, whatever your preference (I used a 2 C. package of finely shredded as I have better luck with that melting)
Any pizza toppings you personally like
Directions: Combine raw beef, eggs, and crushed crackers until well mixed. Press mixture into cookie sheet that has sides. Bake "crust" at 350 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes or until brown. Then top with sauce, pizza toppings, and cheese. Return to oven for an additional 10 - 15 minutes. Enjoy!
