Kelly:
Thank you for posting this. I feel so humbled by and grateful to all of the caring and supportive people on OH and at MG coffee gatherings. There's a country song by John Michael Montgomery called "Life's a Dance" and these words from that song reflect the hope and promise I feel today at one year out:
Life's a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go
I don't really have any specific plans to celebrate, although I did shout "F U Fat Man!" to the person I used to be while I cranked away on my bike ride this morning. That felt good, even though such behavior might be considered outside the range of normal for a man of my not so tender years.
The one year mark finds me happier, healthier, and still a bit crazy. I am so thankful to be where I am today.
