Happy Surgiversary...
To me! Hard to believe it's already been two years, even harder to believe I'm down almost 170 pounds.
Am hoping the parents and I can go out for dinner to celebrate, but it all depends on how my leg is doing and how much pain medication I end up having to ingest. Yes, the leg that I have had 12 surgeries on within the last 11 years is rearing its ugly head once again. Not sure what is wrong, exactly, as the results on thin-slice CT I had done @ the U of MN Hospital on Monday have not come in yet.
I am just praying that the tumor is not back in that leg. Said tumor has been dormant since 2003 (it's called a giant cell tumor. mine was located in the tibia of my left lower leg. it's completely benign, and it has come back a total of seven times). Although my doctor said if it did not recur again within 5 years, I'd be considered cured. So now I don't know what to think :/
It is all very frustrating. I had to take a month-long leave of absence from work, last Friday was my first day back, and I can hardly do anything (i.e. exercise, walk around the block, etc.). It just sucks.
Oh, the surgeon who did my RNY retired last year! So now I will have to go to his partner for the annual check-ups and any other problems that may arise.
Okay, enough of the doom and gloom. Part of that, I think has to do with the weather... the humidity also makes my arthritis flare. Bah! The Oxycodone is kicking in, so I'm gonna go crawl back in to bed and see if I can't get some sleep for a few hours or so.
RNY WORKED FOR ME!!
