strep throat and antibiotics post-op

No clue how I got it but ended up with strep and an ear infection Friday.  Was prescribed 1500 mg amoxicillan/day and was told I would feel at least 70% better by Sunday.  Well, now that it is Monday and I am still miserable, I am curious if even with this massive dose of antibiotics, my body may not be absorbing the meds like a pre-op body would.  Has anyone had issues with antibiotics effectiveness post surgery?  And yes, I called the doc and they said to give it a few more days....ugh.  Thanks in advance.

Well honey, If I were you I would call them back and see if you can't get an injection....I can't take oral meds for strep because for some reason they do not work so I just get a shot of bicillin and feel better!!
