Need help on depression meds

I've been on anti-depressants for over half of my life and probably have tried most of them.  You have to be patient and talk to your doctor it will probably take time to find the right one or the right combination of meds.

I really liked Zoloft because it helped curb a lot of my OCD symptoms (compulsive eating was one) but after surgery when ever I took zoloft my stomach became really upset so they switched me to celexa which I don't like as much but it at least keeps my moods balanced.   I had really bad withdrawal symptoms from Paxil and just did not like myself when I took that medication.  BUT there a many people who like paxil so it really is going to depend on you and how your body reacts to an anti-depressant.

Kelly - the most amazing way I can describe getting on the right med is that it feels like a fog is lifted. Or, like the cobwebs are clearing from your brain. It's really an amazing feeling, and I pray you're able to find this same thing!!!

Hang in there, Kel!

Just try and trust your medical providers, they are going to give you what they think will work.  Not everything *will* work, so you might have to try a few different meds.

Everyone is different, but I would take fat over depressed anyday of the week and twice on sundays , fat didnt make me not want to live, depression did.

I totally forgot about the sexual side effects!  LOL.  Obviously I've been taking them for a while here and totally forgot about that.  Yes, I do have a very decreased libido but I find it better than biting my husband's head off for the littlest things. It's really annoying because, not only the libido is gone, but the natural, uh, lubrication seems to lack quite a bit.  Oh well.  Keeping the lube industry afloat, right? :D
