Well I guess that I will just see what happens...my WII fit told me I lost weight..but the scale where I work said I gained weight...ugh!!!  I have my pre op class on June 23rd and HOPEFULLY surgery on July 6....If I have not lost any weight at the pre op weigh in, I am just going to call and talk to Dr. Benn I think.

I was weighed after the pre-op class I went to on the 11th. I didn't know until I got there that it would be my "final official weigh-in" but was okay because I have lost nearly 17 pounds. I was told to lose 10 so I've been thrilled with my pre-op success. I have 9 more days before surgery so I hope to lose at least a couple more. I just assume I'll get weighed again the day of surgery, but don't know.

Just stay in touch with them and do what they say - I think the committment of trying to lose the weight is what they really want to see.

Good luck - I'll be cheering for you, loser!!!

Sue - That's so great you've lost more than they required you to.  I wish I could have done that, but I could not get my head in the game.  I did end up losing 16 as of surgery morning on the hospital scale, thanks in part to the bowel cleanse the night before. :-)  Keep up the great work!

When I was going through the process the final weigh was the day of the pre-op class. I did get weighed the day of surgery but that is not even in my file at the clinic. So *****ally knows but to be sure you want to make sure you are very close by the pre-op class unless they tell you differently. I would suggest a liquid diet. Many other surgeons require this 2 week period of a liquid diet and many are very successful. Just a thought. Best wishes.

Hey there!  It'll be ok!  I am a Dr Benn patient and the weigh in happened both at the pre op class and on surgery day for me.  I had to lose 20 lbs and was able to achieve that and it was a huge struggle.  Kristy A really posted some great advice and I remember her struggle well as she is a close friend of mine.  I do remember that they expected you to have the required amount off by pre op class or they wanted a detailed plan of what you were going to do to get there by surgery day.  But, follow the lo cal liquid diet steps and you will be successful.  Worry not!  You will be on the loser's bench soon!
