fo you guys that use fairview southdale
I just talked to Gina, she is emailing me a diet to work on...and i told her to tell Dr. Benn I am having problems, I get weighed at my pre op class...which in on the 23rd, and I told her I am so scared I will be cancelled....she said that there probably wont be a problem if i am losing some of the weight....we will have to see what happens!! so far today I have had just one protien shake and some water....ugh!
Oh boy do I know where you are coming from. I just had to weigh in last Thursday - the morning of the pre-op class.
I too was freaking out because during the entire 6 months I couldn't get more than 6 pounds off. I worked out, said no to junk 99% of the time and STILL no loss. It was like my body dug it's heels in and said "NO WAY."
Honestly - I did a liquid protein diet for a week before weigh in and made sure to weigh in in the morning when I know I'm lighter.
I hit it at 11.5 pounds lost. I don't know if I will weigh in at that for surgery tomorrow - but it should be close because I have had NO appetite this past week.
Hang in there - you have some time.. Just don't be lax... it's not worth it!
I for one had a hard time losing my 10 pounds during the 6 month supervised weight loss attempt. Finally, the last few weeks before my pre op class I kicked it into gear, got serious, did mostly slim fast shakes and 1 high protein (20ish grams) lean cuisine or WW meal a day. Kept calories around 1000 and I weighed 325 to start.
I had this mental thing going thinking I was never again going to be able to eat good food, which is just non-sense. I knew it deep down, but your dumb head wants to play games. Don't let the mental thing get the best of you. Write everything down, come up with an eating plan for the day and then stick to it. You can totally do it!
