Any support groups near Wisconsin?

Hi there,

I've not been out on the board in a quite a while.  I have a friend considering the lapband.  I've told her about the support groups and would like to find one I can take her to.  Are there any near Wisconsin?  If so, can you let me know where and when?

I know there used to be or there is one that meets occasionally in River Falls.  I live in Grantsburg and go the the Maple Grove coffee.  Elena the lapband rock star attends that one!  I am in the middle of the six month supervised diet and I am having the RNY with Dr Johnson at Unity.  I hope your friend can connect with someone because it really does make a difference to have someone to talk to about it.  I'm sure you have introduced her to this board, if not that would be great advise too.

There is one at the Amery Medical Center, we usually meet every 2nd Monday of the month, and there are several people that attend.  Our coffee group in Osceola sorta fell apart due to lack of interest.  Hopefully that helps.

It would be great if she could get to talk to some people who have the band. I go to Abbott's support group which meets the 2nd Monday of each month. The groups through Unity are pretty active - hospital support group the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month and we also have an informal band group that meets every Sunday in Coon Rapids. If you want more info, let me know.

Yes, there is a support group that meets at the Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming MN.  Which is about 7 minutes from Forest Lake.  The group meets the 4th Monday of the month at 6pm in Conference  D  For more infomation contact Diane Linngren t 651-210-7231.
