What was I thinking!

Today I decided it was an ok day, not to windy, not to cold (not hot by any means) and was a good day for a test drive...or should I say ride!

This afternoon I got on my bike, NO not a motor type, but yet the old peddle your arse off kind of bike. I wanted to clock how long it would take me to get to the school I will be working at this summer. I had drove it and it was approx 2.5 miles ONE WAY.

Well I made the whole round trip! My legs are a little shakey,my back is stiff. I will need to sit/hang in my LTX3000 therapy chair after posting this. I have not rode that far in many yrs. I had taken it around the area we live in for maybe 3 miles. Which was around the same area two times LOL

It took me 55 minutes round trip. That is including stopping into the consignment store to pick up my money, Stopping at curves to cancel my membership. So, if you take that away, maybe 40 minutes round trip?

This getting healthy stuff is wonderful and tiring LOL
Until next time, Be kind to your friendly bikers- You never know it might be! LOL

Kelly,

I know what your saying.....My legs turned to jello my first ride for the season....I just went and bought a new bike, my other one was to small for me.....It really makes you feel good though to know that we can do this now....

You'll work up to it, and before you know it you will be going for longer bike rides.....

Have fun biking....

Kelly

I bought a used bike on Craigslist last week (no sense spending a bunch of money until I know if I'm going to use it!) and went for my first ride in 34 YEARS!!!  I was more than a little nervous.  We did about 6 miles (I've been biking at the gym) in about 45 minutes.  My legs were a bit  like Jello when I got off, but I didn't spill and did wear a helmet like a good girl.  As I reminded my fiance, the last time I was on a bike it had only one speed - and that was as fast as I could pedal and the only brakes were pushing the pedals backwards.

New adventures every day!!

Tink:

Congratulations on completing your first biking adventure.  As Kelly said, you will work up to longer distances and more speed over time.
