Went to Rascals in Apple Valley last night and was able to kid a kids size serving of there Turkey/Mashed Potatos w/ Gravy and Corn Meal for under $5 was great and able to enjoy my friends company...

Anyone else have some helpful places you found you could eat and visit with friends Post WLS? Planning a Girls Night next Saturday and have no idea where to go or what to do!

*Yes I realise we try to NOT go to dinner after WLS and try new things, etc. But  sometimes you have to so for those occasions please respond to the above email and not explain this to me as I know!

Thank you!

I would go anywhere that has shrimp ****tail.  If you like shrimp, that is!

Chili's has a kids chicken breast platter, if you can handle the chicken.  Perkins has eggs.  There are ton of places and a lot of places will have their nutritional information on their website!

Good luck!

I can do this, I can do this, I can do this - AND SO CAN YOU!!

Kabob Grill has a children's GYRO with fries and a drink for less than 5 bucks...just the meat alone was worth it.

Another, more FANCY night out is Solera downtown minneapolis.  It's a tapas bar....they bring you a flight of courses, but each flight is very very small portion and the food tastes wonderful.  A bit spendy, but for a night out on occasion, I found the portions to be perfect.  Sometimes just a bite is enough and you give the rest of the portion to your friend.  You don't feel like you have over done it, and you don't feel like you've missed out on anything.  I cannot wait to go again.  The roof top has a bar, but it's pretty much gay....seriously.

I'm a fan of the Melting Pot in downtown Mpls.
Fondue at it's best and the main entree (meat & broth or wine fondue) is the best! The others I did without when I was fresh out of surgery, but I loved the meat. And you're forced to take your time & eat slowly because it's got to cook in the fondue for a bit anyhow.
They have GNO specials, too, so check out their website for details & possible coupons.
Have fun!

We enjoy going out and I have found many places will allow you to order a meat or fish selection ala carte' - just ask!  Famous Dave's will do a beautiful boneless/skinless chicken breast for $4.25 and I have enough left over for lunch the next day.  They will also let you order their chopped pork or beef brisket by the ounce.

Do you eat the Bonless/Skinless Chicken w/ BBQ sauce from Famous Daves without any problems, worried about Sugar in BBQ sauce....

Diane,

I had RNY on 5/6 and have not had trouble with eatting chicken glazed with BBQ sauce.  I sometimes add a little more than it was cooked with and that seems to go fine for me too.  I hope to meet you at a coffee some time.
