Minnesota docs offering VSG?

Can anyone help me find a good surgeon in Minnesota that performs tthe VSG? Southern Minnesota or Twin Cities area would be great but not neccessary as I'm in North Iowa.

I think Dr. Krook at HCMC does.

I actually called there Friday and theysaid they did not offer it.

Thanks but I don't see that any of these docs offer the VSG.

Dr. Medlin at St.Mary's Duluth Clinic does the VSG.

You could ask Dr Buchwald or Dr Ikramuddin at the U of M if they would perform this procedure because they both perform the DS.  THe VSG is the top portion to the DS just slightly smaller, so I would email both surgeons and see if they would be willing to do th VSG as a stand alone procedure.  I have just heard recently that there is a surgeon at the Mayo clinic who is now performing the DS.  I do not remember his name but he may be a possibility as well. 

Insurance does not usually cover the VSG and that is why there just are not surgeons performing it right now.  However, if you are self-pay or know that your insurance will cover it then expalin that to the surgeon as well.
