Thanks, everyone for the well wishes.  Surgery was Tuesday.  It was difficult because of the RNY, but everything went well and no complications.  I was sleeping most of yesterday and in a lot of pain.  I was able to get up and sit for a few minutes yesterday.  Today I was up walking for a bit.  My pain pump and me are great friends.    This should hopefully take care of all those transfusions I kept getting with that nasty colon gone now.  And the good news is that I may be able to get reconnected down the line as he only had to take my colon.  I was up walking today.  The hardest part is getting in and out of bed right now and I'm tired.  Thanks for all your good wishes!

Thanks, Dana.  This is one way to lose weight, huh?  Only I'm probably gaining more right now from all the fluids, but I know I'll lose that pretty quick.  Plus, they've had me on only ice chips this week so far.

Repeat to yourself:

"I love my pain pump. I will use it as often as possible."

Thinking of you!

Please spay and neuter your pets!

Thanks, Farrah.  Yup, it's my BEST friend right now!  They've had to refill it a few times already.

Take it easy and get lots of rest.  I know what you mean about the pain pump - I still have fond memories of mine....LOL

Hope to hear that you are up and around very soon!!

Thanks, Linda.  I've been up and about a few times yesterday and today, but it was SLOW going.  The most pain is getting in and out of bed.  I'm watchin' that pain pump, though, and hittin' it every chance I get!

Nancy,

Girl - you've been through so much - how do you stay so positive?  I must take lessons from you!  Well wishes and prayers for an uneventful recovery!

Tracy, I don't know!  I have definitely had my moments.  I'm really sore, but otherwise things are going well.  The surgeon was just in and said I could finally get off my ice chip diet and move to clear liquids.  He also said they could take me outside (in a wheelchair) and get some fresh air.  It looks SO nice out there!
