I had kidney stones more times than I can count and in a 4 year span a few years before my WLS . A few of those times I had to be hospitalized and once had to have surgery to remove them.   For me it was always because I didn't drink enough water and drank way too much diet coke.   I haven't had any kidney stone issues since my WLS surgery.  I'm wondering if its possible you had stones in your kidneys long before your WLS surgery and maybe with the increase in liquids its starting to move them through your body?

I never had kidney stones before my RNY.  I developed my first one at about 6 weeks out.  I had begun taking my calcium suppliments but was not getting in enough water.  I have not had any problems since.  From what I understand this can be pretty typical when we are new post ops.  Good Luck!  They can be super painful.
