Update on my....issue
On May 4th I had a mild stroke. This was not determined on May 4th but upon a second MRI conducted on May 20. I've had one face to face visit with a neurologist, but he has been working with my PCP to step me through the analysis. We have looked at every blood test. I had xrays, ekg, 2 mri, 1 mra...so far the only indicator of a stroke is the second MRI. My BP is normal. I have no family history of stroke (til now, yeah!)
In the mean time, the symptoms that developed on May 4 continue....virtually no change. My left hand is numb, the left side of my face is numb. My left hand is super sensitive to temp (cold burns).
The next step happens Thursday. I will be having a:

Transesophageal echocardiogram (google if you want more info)

Geeze Paul... well I hope for a full recovery too for you!
I'm sorry you are going through this! I know a little about stroke because I'm in the medical industry, and I know several people who have had strokes. It sounds like you're doing what you need to do to recover, and you're very wise to be doing research yourself so you know as much as you can about taking care of yourself and making good decisions in your treatment. You are young, in good health (compared to a LOT of people who have strokes) and as long as you work on exercise and the other things in your recovery toolkit that you CAN control, you should recover completely. It does take time, though, and it's sometimes hard to measure recovery in slow, small increments. I'll keep you in my prayers for a complete recovery!
Stroke in young people always seems so wrong to me....even tho we know babies can have them! It sounds like all the right things are being done and your youth is in your favor.
My father had a Transeophageal Echo a few years ago - I had never heard of it until then. I thought it sounded pretty cool! It's amazing what can be done in our bodies.
Best of luck to you!
