Jonesing for BBQ
Hi everyone, sorry, I'm not much of a poster on these boards, more of a lurker/reader. Well, since my lapband surgery, I have become addicted to the Food Channel, shows such at Good Eats, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Unwrapped, etc. Well, since it is the season for grilling, all these shows have been featuring barbecue, now I am majorly craving some barbecue ribs, etc.
Does anybody have problems eating ribs, brisket, pulled porked etc? I usually have problems getting beef and pork down, chicken seems to be the only animal protein that doesn't get stuck. Some days I am lucky and I can get steak to stay down, only if the pieces are so small that they practically melt once they hit my tongue. Only thing that I had in the house was a can of water packed chicken breast chucks, so I nuked them in the microwave and put some barbecue sauce over it, and so far it is working for the cravings. It's all about making do when the craving**** sometimes :) Thanks for listening.

OH sista . . . I do me some BBQ! ! ! Love, love, love it. I just make sure to take small bites and chew really well and find that the chicken and pulled pork go down easiest because they are a little more moist I believe. Have had ribs, but I'm mighty careful about the amount of fat on them as that tends to not agree with me. During the early stages, one of my favorite things was ground chicken or turkey with Ken's BBQ sauce mixed in. It took care of the cravings and settled well.

We do lots of BBQ at this time of year. I continue to use my Jack Daniles BBQ sauce, just not as big of an amount as prior to surgery. We go out to eat at Famous Daves,Spitfire grill etc... and I have BBQ there too! I am a lucky (or maybe not) person and have had no food issues. I eat chicken, beef, pork, other fowl etc.. meats. Wishing you the best and hope you enjoy some BBQ.
It is Rib Fest here this coming week so I will be going to that huge event. Come on to Fargo ND for some BBQ!

I was telling my wife the same thing the other night after seeing all those BBQ shows. I'm all ready to fire up the smoker and put in a few slabs of ribs. I enjoy BBQ all the time and the only thing I have any trouble with is chicken if it is at all dry. Ribs, brisket and pulled pork are no problem at all.
