I think you must be on solid food, right? If so, you can get broiled fish or meat anywhere, and a baked or mashed potato. Cottage cheese from the salad bar is usually good, too. Just go slowly. I'm sure you're eating very little, so some places offer a half portion or a child portion. Otherwise, you can just take most of your meal home. Good luck!
Becareful of grilled Chicken I still to this day have a hard time with Chicken. It really depends on if its dry or not. I would really suggest sharing a meal with someone. Eating out the first few months is very frustrating. When I eat out I have a hard time knowing my limit because I'd see all the food on my plate and think I should eat more and then would end up being sick afterwards.

I say Ruby Tuesdays... great salad bar with lots of Cottage Cheese!
Remember that it sounds better than it is. IMO anyhow. At least this early out.
I tried the same thing that soon out of surgery. Went to Applebee's and ordered a steak. I did okay, but literally, 3 bites and I was full. I took it home & hubby ate it later, but it was a total waste of money those first couple of months. I later took the advice noted above - just get an extra plate and take a little from the others I was with. It was always my family so they never minded. I still do this to be honest.
Do go slow & take your time eating. Enjoy the company you're with more than the food. And a warning to you...it may be emotional! I didn't expect that, but the first time I was in a restaurant, it was emotional. I was a foodie before and couldn't shove it in anymore. Just wanted to throw up the caution flag now for you so you can think about it ahead of time.
Good luck with your adventure!
