This may sound really dorky but.....in the beginning I lost lots of hair and now my hair is short and thats alot better BUT it seems like I have to shave my legs every other day......Before losing weight I maybe shaved once a month if not every 2 months YIKES..... Did my hair always grow that fast and I just didn't care?

Thanks,

Marsha

Marsha,
I think its just that now you are wearing more shorts and skirts and yes, care a bit more that you have lost the weight. I really do not think that your hair is growing any faster. you just care a little more and lets face it, it is alot easier to get down there to shave those legs!!! LOL
I am with you though, I shave alot more than I used to!!!

Since protein is the building block for your hair, do you think maybe it grows faster because you're eating a protein rich diet now that you're post-op versus your old diet? Maybe its just growing faster because of that.

hehe I bet you just didn't care! Plus, when we had huge legs... the hairs didn't  seem as long maybe? LOL Plus you're probably hitting the shorts and skirts... so more shaving has to be done!

I started taking a multivitamin a few years ago and I noticed that when I forgot to take it for a month my nails and hair didn't do so well.  So it might be that.  Or it could be the added protein.

I wish I could shave once or twice a month - usually it's at least twice a week but I have really dark hair (ah, genetics!).

Started research @ 280 pounds
Surgery Date 05/27/09 @ 258 pounds

Genetics are so unfair.

My grandmother was full-blooded Norwegian and never shaved a day in her life. Not anything.

I guess I take after the hairy German side, lol.
