Momentary panic about surgery date~ phew
My surgery date is June 17th @ Abbott. I work at Abbott.. therefore I can review all my medical records myself through our computer system. The RN of my PCP just called with a question about my pre-op physical.. explained that yes they see the orders for the labs/chest xray, etc I need for a pre-op physical in our computer system, but no surgery date is in the system. I'm like what the F* ??????? So I went into my record and....
NO SURGERY DATE SCHEDULED FOR ME ON MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS LIST!!!!
So I took a deep breath and called the WLS office. The girl who schedules isn't in today. I talked to the main woman and she said she'd have a nurse look into it as soon as she is off the phone. I sat here almost in tears thinking what if.. what if they didn't put me on the schedule and someone else is on the schedule where i'm supposed to be? I would be just devestated..
A nurse called me right back and apologized for the mishap and that I was now on the surgery schedule as planned, same date and time. I'm soooo relieved... I just had to release this to my OH friends.. it seems like from start to finish my whole WLS office process has been whacky.. like I've had to steer the ship the whole time.. it just hasn't happened with the ease I thought it would. If I didn't work here I think I'd have almost been forgotten about a few times.. I've had to make the next step every step of the way.. I might have to talk to the officer coordinator to give her feedback.
