My kitchen play time and 50lbs down TODAY!
WHOOOP WHOOOP - the scale didn't move for almost 14 days so I was pretty nervous but then boom. I know that's how it goes and everyone says it but still we all think it when it doesn't move. So YAY for me - 50lbs lighter. I am 11lbs from my first goal as that was the weight I remember feeling good at 7 years ago. I looked pretty hot and buff too - but was my goal was to be able to bench press my weight. Well I benched 235lbs - it was a glorious 2seconds but my back didn't think so - so no more weight lifting for me then the weight came on!
Anyway - I LOVE playing in my kitchen and on Tuesday I went to Lakewinds (Natural food store) and for lunch had this Fava Bean thingy on the hot deli. It was fabulous so I bought what I thought might be all in it and added some of my own things and wanted to share with you.
I think it's fanominal by itself but for those in our families who need more - adding noodles or rice would be good as well.
So here is my drum roll pleeeaaaaseeee...................
STANG'S FAVA BEAN DELIGHT
16oz Mushrooms - any kind
1 package of Ground Turkey ( 1.25lb)
1/2 large Red Onion
1 bunch of cilantro
1 bunch of Italian Parsley
5 leaves of fresh basil (2 tsp if dried)
1 19oz can of Fava Beans (Can't find them? Use what ever you would like)
1 jar of your favorite pasta red sauce (I used Mom's all natural garlic basil)
1 tsp onion powder
1-2 tbls of garlic salt (I love garlic - thank God my taste buds didn't change for that)
2 tbls of Italian Seasoning - (I used Mrs Dash)
Put 1tbls Italian Seasoning, Turkey, onion and mushroom in a strew pot on stove, mix seasoning in - cook med/high until turkey is browned. DRAIN. While that's cooking cut up cilantro, parsley and basil and either chop fine or put in food processor. DRAIN beans. After draining the meet mix put all ingrediants in pot (Except beans - you don't want to over cook them they get mushy) and simmer on med/low for 20-30mins. Then add beans, 1 tbls Italian Seasonion, Onion powder and garlic salt to taste. Simmer another 15 mins. Serve by itself, with noodles or rice.
You could also do this with chicken or tofu I would think it would be just the same.
But anyway - this makes 10cups. Check this out.
Each Cup is...........
164 Calories, 5.85g Fat, 10.65g Carbs, 3.1 Fiber, 2.2 Sugars AND 15g Protein.
I think I done pretty damn good!
Try it out people I was pretty proud - I think I could even win a prize :)
Love ya all- hope you have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!! Let me know if you try it out. The prep time was only about 15 minutes - I'm sure you could not simmer it as long to make it a faster meal for your families I just wanted all the flavor in there.
TICKER MOVED! I'm doing a happy dance all friggen weekend!
