Holy Southern food Batman...

So I'm in South Carolina and I have to hand it to southerners... I don't know HOW they can follow their WLS rules with all the fried food down here!

I was introduced to something called "hush puppies" yesterday. Um, yeah, bad idea.. because YUUUUM!

Then there's fried catfish, fried tomatoes, chicken fried steak, fried, fried, fried, fried... shall I go on?

Man, we have it good in MN in terms of our food choices... people I talked to from the south say they have a hard time staying slim with all that food. I think "hard time" would be an understatement for me! Wouh!

I totally understand!  I am positive that I was a southern belle in another life - I LOVE the food, the weather, everything (except red necks).

You must try their pork BBQ - it is with vinegar, not tomato based.  A new taste experience!

And then there is sweet potator pie, moon pies, pecan pies, corn fritters.....

Just remember portion control and you should be fine!

to Heck with the fried stuff-you GOTTA try boiled peanuts!!  they are boiled in the shell in salted water til they are soft and they are addicting......

I miss them lots-you have to have raw peanuts to make them, so I am still looking for someplace that has them, not roasted and salted already!

yum.

I'm from Florida and was wondering what in the world ya'll eat up north? I can't believe ya'll don't have all the good food we have. I was raised here in Florida so I'm not really aware of what northern people eat.
