Anyone who's a newbie having water trouble?
I love to drink it, but my body doesn't seem to like it.....Flavored drinks don't really settle well with me, Milk is the only thing that seems to satisfy my stomach and I don't drink too much of that at this stage...Any ideas????

I had the same problem. Pre-op and really for a long time post-op I hated water... just didn't like the taste of it. That changed thankfully. I like to do decaf teas or ice teas... or I use Crystal Light but only put half of them in there. Sometimes I do low-carb juices... but I just tend to stick to water. I put a lot of ice in it so it makes it more thirst quenching. I have a water bottle with me all the time and just take little sips. After losing this much weight and getting off soda completely, I notice thirst a lot more now and water is the first thing I reach for.
I hated crystal light in the beginning, the only flavor I could tollerate was the white grape, which seemed to be milder to me. Don't mix it full strength, that helps I think. Have you tried different temps of water to see what feels best? What about different flavored teas? Try a variety pack and see what tastes best.

I'm not a newbie, but I remember having that problem! I could only drink very small amounts - if I tried to exceed more than a few sips, I thought it was either not going to go down, or that my stomach would explode!
If milk is the only thing agreeing with you, why is that bad? At least you are getting some liquid and protein at the same time.
Keep sipping!

To this day I can the only flavored drink I can tolerate is crystal lite lemon ice tea. If they ever stop making this I will be in big trouble. I don't know what is about the other flavers but I just can't tolerate them. Also early on I had to drink room temp water. I did also flavor the room temp water with a couple squeezes of fresh lemon just becareful not to get any seeds in the water.

I had my surgery last monday, and I am SO sick of room temperature water! I want to gag sometimes. For the first few days, the only thing that didn't bother me was jello. I thought, how am I going to eat 64 oz.'s of JELLO! Have you tried Powerade? That isn't as strong as crystal light I don't think. Also, Lipton iced tea to-go is kind of nice too. Every person is different though. Good Luck!
