For people who had FSWL docs

Hi all just wondering....how long do you have to be on full liquids before the surgery????  I am hoping that soon I can schedule surgery and that will be an impact on when I can schedule.

I need to be on a 14 day pre-op LD... a 21 day is optional if you have a higher weight to lose. Its all depending on your weight, etc and what your surgeon wants.

I had my surgery 18 months ago (wow!  where does the time go?) and back then we were not required to do a liquid diet...so unless things have changed...you're in luck!

Just the day before your surgery.  No liquid diet, but you must lose the weight your surgeon tells you before they will operate.  They are serious sbout it.  Hope all goes well!

Only the day before surgery.  I had to lose 15 lbs before I could have the surgery.  They weigh you the morning of and will turn you away if you haven't done your work.  This was so much better than having to do a pre-op liquid diet,  But afterwards you will have two weeks of full liquids, two weeks of puree and then onto real food.  I had my surgery in March of this year.  So I wouldn't think much has changed. 

I only had to do the day before surgery. They required a % of weight loss prior to surgery.
