Hi Friends...  Swapkins is coming soon and I thought I'd partner it with a charitable program I'm involved with at work.  It's the Dress for Success program.  While you're gathering your clothing for Swapkins, would you start a bag for this program?  According to our coordinator, they are really in need of larger sizes, and historically, those are the sizes we no longer need.  Below are the guidelines...

“Dress for Success” affiliates

General information:

Serve women seeking employment and some currently employed, those leaving abusive situations, those recently released from prison and recent immigrants.

·                     New and gently used career attire in clean, like new condition.

·                     Don't throw it away! When purging your make-up cabinet rather than toss new, unused products, donate them to dress women for success in Minnesota.

·                     Clothing must be clean, pressed and on hangers.

·                     In season clothing only for fall and winter.

·                     Many women come from group homes entering the workforce. Referrals come from Social Service and Employment agencies.

·                     Each client receives an interview suit and mix and match pants, skirts, dresses and sports coats in order to get through a work week.

·                     We provide coordinating shoes and accessories when possible.

We do have a need for accessory items and winter outer weat such as:

·                     Coats and boots

·                     Camisoles

·                     Shoes - Closed-toe interview appropriate (no sandals please)

·                     New unopened nylons

·                     New unopened make-up

·                     New undergarments

·                     Jewelry

·                     Maternity clothing - interview appropriate

THANK YOU EVERYONE AND I'LL SEE YOU AT SWAPKINS!

Edi
