Jump start my stall???
Hey Robyn - probably not done - I would suggest tracking your food - I think we sometimes don't know how much or how little we are getting in - in a day - and maybe you arent eating enough or too much.
make sure you are getting enough protein in. if you eat the same things all the time - shake it up a bit.
the loss slows down after a while - l am over 6 months out and i lose about 8 pounds a month now - where as before it was much more. however times when it is slow - i do notice that clothes fit differently.
Best wishes!

My suggestion is try to up your calorie intake - sometimes your body needs a little more to get your metabolism in gear again.
As long as your following the plan, you will lose again! Just be patient!
Take care,
Our bodies use glycogen for short term energy storage. Glycogen is not very soluble, but it is stored in our muscles for quick energy -- one pound of glycogen requires 4 lbs of water to keep it soluble, and the average glycogen storage capacity is about 2 lbs. So, when you are not getting in enough food, your body turns first to stored glycogen, which is easy to break down for energy. And when you use up 2 lbs of glycogen, you also lose 8 lbs of water that was used to store it -- voila -- the "easy" 10 lbs that most people lose in the first week of a diet.
As you stay in caloric deficit, however, your body starts to realize that this is not a short term problem. You start mobilizing fat from your adipose tissue and burning fat for energy. But your body also realizes that fat can't be used for short bursts of energy -- like, to outrun a sabertooth tiger. So, it starts converting some of the fat into glycogen, and rebuilding the glycogen stores. And as it puts back the 2 lbs of glycogen into the muscle, 8 lbs of water has to be stored with it to keep it soluble. So, even though you might still be LOSING energy content to your body, your weight will not go down or you might even GAIN for a while as you retain water to dissolve the glycogen that is being reformed and stored.
This is very normal - just keep doing what you know you need to do and it'll work.....patience is hard, I know...but it's worth it in the end!
GOOD LUCK!
And if you aren't losing pounds, you are losing inches. I lost two pounds at 5 months out but went from a 12 to an 8 in 10 days.
It may also be a weight you were at before for a long time. Sometimes our stalls are at that point.
And I don't think anyone can stress measuring and tracking more -- this is really eye opening for a lot of people. You may think you are following the program and find out differently. I kept losing and didn't want to -- I wasn't getting in enough calories -- lots of protein but the protein was so healthy, its fat and calories weren't enough. Had to change things up a bit and I've been maintaining great for the past 3 months.
You are also coming up on a six month check up with the program so if by then you haven't lost any more weight, you can ask your doctor. We all have different journeys and you need to follow what your doctor suggests for you. The blood test will tell you and your doctor a lot.
Most importantly -- it is just numbers!!!! Your health and what you HAVE accomplished also needs to be taken into the mix. How do you feel now compared to 5 months ago?
Good question for people to chime in on!!!!
