new avie & a wow moment
First off, this adorable child in my avatar is my niece Hannah! She turned one on September 17th and, as you can tell, she is quite the thumb-sucker. Which I think is pretty cool b/c I too sucked my thumb when I was younger. My sister, on the other hand, did not. PLUS Hannah has blue eyes. Again, I also do, but my sister's are hazel.
Secondly, Mom and I went to Rosedale mall yesterday to see if we could find some wedding wear for my cousin's wedding next Friday. I didn't find anything because frankly, the styles that are coming out scare the living snot out of me. They are a total throwback to the 80's. The colors are so awful, I don't see how the fashion industry can justify it. *shrugs*
However, I did manage to try on a few shirts, one being a size 1X!! That's comparable to an 18/20 in most stores! From a 30/32(bordering on the next size up) to an 18/20 is pretty damn cool.
I'm planning on stopping by Fashion Bug in Coon Rapids sometime this weekend as I will be in the vicinity because I work over there. Hopefully I can find something suitable. I don't do dresses though, lol. The last time I wore one was for my sister's wedding, and it's still hanging in a plastic bag in the back of my closet. I won't part with it b/c it's so pretty and is a reminder of how far I've come.
Oh! I also found out that I have Thanksgiving OFF from work! This will be the first time in 4 years that I haven't had to work at least one shift on turkey day. YAY! I can spend the entire day with mi familia and not having to worry about getting to work on time.
Another OH! I start school on January 12th @ Metro State U, and I cannot tell you guys how excited I am! Both about the classes I'll be taking, and the thought that I am going ahead with what has always been my dream--to be a writer. I hope to write for a medical journal, a magazine or a newspaper after I graduate.
I am freezing. Time to load up the comforter on my bed. *yawns* Night y'all!
