Five weeks out
Just thought I'd post a little progress note.
I'm a little over five weeks out from my open RNY. Mosts days, I feel fine, but still struggling with occasional lightheadedness.
My PCP has already cut the dose of one of my BP meds in half, and we've determined that my hemoglobin level isn't back to normal after surgery yet-- but it's climbing. The lightheadedness is keeping me from walking as much as I'd like-- sure would hate to 'face-plant' while walking away from home!
I'm on my first business trip since surgery-- to Las Vegas. All the restaurants look enticing, but I'm sticking to appetizer portions-- shrimp ****tail, anyone?
The business meals have been pretty easy to choose from: eggs, etc for breakfast, and lunch generally has two or three protein choices. Last night's reception had prime rib, turkey breast, etc.
Still trying to get all the water in-- but it's getting better too!
Best part-- my colleagues, who haven't seen me since pre surgery 6 months ago, have noticed my weight loss-- nearly 45 pounds!
