Exercise Motivation??

I can not for the life of me seem to get motivated to exercise on a regular basis!!! If I want to continue my weight loss and maintain I know I HAVE to do this - so what is my deal? Exercise has always been a huge hurdle for me: never enough time or energy, too uncomfortable with all the weight...blah, blah, blah

So, an amazing 69 pounds less after only 5-months isn't enough of a motivator?!? Seriously!! I need a good ol' kick in the rear end.

Any tips, suggestions, ideas to get me going?

Hi there, I can relate to not having enough time, energy..being too heavy, etc. I told myself that not enough time could no longer be an excuse. I seem to have time for so many other things, why not 30 minutes for exercise? I now have figured out I have to MAKE time and try not to allow myself to say that it's something in my schedule that can be cancelled, etc.

I find that it's one of those things that once I get going and DO the exercise , I feel great and am so happy with myself that I did it!

Hope this helps!

Heidi

I like walking it can be done any where and I use my walking time to reflect on my day or just the moment. I eat while I work then walk on my dinner break I know not evey one can do this but if you can its a easy way to get in 20-30 min. Then when I come home from work I go for a walk right away it my unwind time. I found I watch less TV.and walk longer now then when I first started. And if the weathers bad I can walk in the mall I don't give my self a way out . Iset my personal goals up right away and after about 3-4 weeks it just become part of my routine. I don't even think about it I just do It cause thats what i do! I could alway find an excuse not to exercise thats easy so try finding a good excuse as to why Tv or setting around or what ever is more important then your health and self worth!!!! now Butt kicked get up and do something right now and get off the computer. Good luck and Good bye......... Good bye go get out get moving!!!!........................what still reading are you a slow learner?????   good bye

I kept telling myself I need to exercise, I never exercise, then I realize, we walk on the beach 5-6 nights a week for at least a mile or two. Duh, that is exercise. I was so comfortable and not out of breath, that I forgot that I was actually doing something healthy, since we have so much fun watching the critters and finding shells and such. A year ago, I would have whined about taking a "walk", not I don't even realize it is work. What about a treadmill or stationary bike in front of the tv? That always helped me when I was at my parents recovering. I would watch tv, that way it didn't feel like such a chore.

Exercise is always a challenge for me. The only time I sucessfully exercised regularly was when I FORCED myself to sit up immediately when the alarm went off, went to the bathroom, took a sip of water and got myself on my exercise bike. No dilly dallying. If I didn't SIT UP the second my alarm went off, forget it. I really found once I began doing this weekdays, after a few weeks, it became a habit. It's really not that bad getting up alittle earlier in the morning. You're going to be tired when the alarm goes off no matter what time it is. That's what helped me.

Now I need to pay attention to my own advise and get myself back on the program. Good luck! I hope you find a routine / habit that works for you. Congrats on the 69LBS gone!!
