I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
I got my surgery date before I had completed all my dietitian appointments. Looks like you are with the same surgery group as me also. I had surgery at Abbott Dec. 18th 2007 and didn't know I was approved until 1 week before my surgery. That was wild.
My insurance lost the paperwork twice, so stay on top of it. Best of luck to you on your journey. For me it's the best thing I've EVER done for myself!

My clinic, Fairview Southdale, would not set a date until they had an authorization code from the insurance company. That was fine by me. Didn't want to get my hopes up if there was going to be an insurance fiasco.
Glad to hear for you that things are progressing well! It will be here before you know it!

Congratulations!!!!!! BTW, do you work for Pinkerton? There is a company locally with that name.
I was given my surgery date of October 8th when I had my surgeon visit to go over all that I had done already - since February - required weight loss, phone counseling, psych eval, etc. I expressed my concerns at that time about whether or not I would get approved, and they told me that once you get to this stage and have completed all this work, it is very unlikely to not get approved. About a week later I got a call from the surgeon's office advising they had received the approval from my insurance, and a few days after that I received the approval letter from my insurance company. I have HealthPartners insurance, any I'm going through the Unity Hospital in Fridley.
